How To Manage Frustration As Christian Millennials.

Would you like to know how to manage frustration as a Christian millennial? I guess that you have a goal that you are yet to achieve. And when you look around, it seems impossible for you to achieve the said goal. So essentially there seems to be a gap between your now and the goal. I can relate to that too. The problem with this space is that it can lead to frustration. And also rob you of the joy and experience of your new blessing.

Let’s be honest, there are blessings you are experiencing now that you prayed for in the past. And if you are not careful, you will always miss out on the joy because you are focused on your destination. Life is a journey, not a destination. And there is always a blessing to be experienced and enjoyed even in your now. Anyway, are you feeling frustrated because you are not where you think you should be?

Frustration is defined as the prevention of achieving something (Google). This is just a state of not yet, where you know where you should be and what you should be doing, but are not there yet. It comes about because you are in the space between. I dislike this space because it is upsetting. And it can cause one to feel defeated because of a lack of control. When I am in the space between my promise and my now, the one thing I have realized that I do is postpone my happiness and joy and make statements like, I will be happy when this and that happen. Can you relate? God does not want us to live that way.

How, then, can you manage your frustration as a Christian Millennial as you navigate your not-yet season?

Elimination.

God will never add on a full plate. For God to give you what you are praying for, you need to get rid of all the distractions and every other thing that’s no longer serving your purpose. God will only fill empty cups. So let me ask you this: have you eliminated all the distractions in your life? The distractions could be mental. What are you filling your mind with? Every new level demands a new and improved you. And before you can increase your yield, there has to be pruning, which is painful and requires you to let go of something. What is God asking you to let go of in this season? Is it a state of mind? Doubt, unforgiveness?

Whatever it is let go of it. It does not always have to be something physical that He is asking you to let go of. It could even be spiritual. What false beliefs about God does He want you to get rid of? If you do not know, you can prayerfully ask Him or even find out through your study of the word. The Bible is full of instructions and guidance on how we should live our lives and so reading the Bible will give you the revelation you need that will help you manage frustrations.

Preparation will help you manage frustration as a Christian millennial.

Before God can give you that which you are praying for, He has to see that you are ready for it and that requires preparation. Are you preparing for what you are praying for? What skills are you learning in this season that will equip you for the next? How are you preparing for what you are praying for? Faith without actions is dead. If it’s a job you are looking for, are you applying for open positions? Are you honing the skills needed for the job you are applying for? If it’s business, are you working on it? How are you spending your time?

What are you actively doing to prepare for what you are asking God for? Remember, before God can do the impossible, you have to ensure that you have done everything that you can do. Now that is what waiting on God really means. Doing your part as you wait for Him to do His. Don’t get me wrong, prayer is key and essential, but as you pray, I want to encourage you to ask God what it is He wants from you. Could you be the one holding yourself back?

Expectation.

Without faith, it is impossible to please God, and with Faith all things are possible. Now that you have eliminated the distraction and junk and you have prepared for what you have prayed for. Now what you need to do is wait patiently and be expectant. GOD is the God of the suddenly and you need to wake up every day believing that it could be the day you receive your miracle. In Psalm 9:18, the Word tells us that the poor are not crushed forever and eventually they get their hopes fulfilled. Today let me encourage you with this, it will not always be this way.

Do not lose hope. God has not forgotten about you. God sees you and knows exactly what you need. He will visit you and, just like Luke 18, God says He will rush to rescue those who cry out to Him day and night. He hears your prayer. Let the fact that God will fulfill it just encourage you because, although it might tarry, it will surely come to pass. And just like the book of Ecclesiastes 3 says, there is a time for mourning and a time for dancing. If you are in a season where all you are doing is planting and can’t seem to see results, know that you will reap your harvest, so hang in there and do not lose hope. Your miracle is on the way. Check this out for more encouragement. WHEN GOD IS SILENT!

And the Lord said, “Listen to what the unjust judge says. And will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting them off? I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly. However, when the Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?”

I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world, you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.

James 1:2:4

Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.

Ecclesiastes 3:1

For everything, there is a season and a time for every matter under heaven

Philippians 4: 10- 12

I rejoiced in the Lord greatly that now at length you have revived your concern for me. You were indeed concerned for me, but you had no opportunity. Not that I am speaking of being in need, for I have learned in whatever situation I am to be content. I know how to be brought low, and I know how to abound. In any and every circumstance, I have learned the secret of facing plenty and hunger, abundance and need.

Psalm 37: 4-5

Delight yourself in the LORD, and he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the LORD; trust in him, and he will act.

Psalm 145:18-19

The LORD is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth. He fulfills the desire of those who fear him; he also hears their cry and saves them.

1 Peter 5: 6-7

Humble yourself, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-18

Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, and give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. 1

Psalm 34:1

I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise will continually be in my mouth.

Colossians 4:2

Continue in prayer, and be watchful with thanksgiving.

Ps. 9:1

I will give thanks to you, LORD, with all my heart; I will tell of all your wonderful deeds.

Conclusion

When God took the Israelites to exile in Babylon, He told them to live as they would in their own country and not postpone anything. He told them to plant vineyards and live life as they would and even pray for the land they would be in because their peace would be determined by the peace of Babylon. So when you are in this space of not yet, continue living your life and do not postpone your happiness. Celebrate each milestone, do the things you like, and do not wait because again if you do not create healthy habits now, they will not just automatically come when you get to your promise.

Trusting God on The Other side Of Unanswered Prayers

This is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says to all those I carried into exile from Jerusalem to Babylon: “Build houses and settle down; plant gardens and eat what they produce. Marry and have sons and daughters; find wives for your sons and give your daughters in marriage, so that they too may have sons and daughters. Increase in number there; do not decrease. Also, seek the peace and prosperity of the city to which I have carried you into exile. Pray to the Lord for it, because if it prospers, you too will prosper.”

Yes, this is what the Lord Almighty, the God of Israel, says: “Do not let the prophets and diviners among you deceive you. Do not listen to the dreams you encourage them to have. They are prophesying lies to you in my name. I have not sent them,” declares the Lord.

10 This is what the Lord says: “When seventy years are completed for Babylon, I will come to you and fulfill my good promise to bring you back to this place. 11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

12 Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. 14 I will be found by you,” declares the Lord, “and will bring you back from captivity. I will gather you from all the nations and places where I have banished you,” declares the Lord, “and will bring you back to the place from which I carried you into exile.” Jeremiah 29

Habits and lifestyles are created and they start when you choose to make one small change every day. What have you been postponing that you could do now because you are waiting to get to your promised land? It is possible for you to manage frustration. Don’t stay stuck in frustration. In due time, God will bring you where He promised you. He does not lie.
