HOW TO EXPERIENCE TRANSFORMATION IN YOUR LIFE.

Estimated reading time: 11 minutes

Do you desire transformation in your life? Do you want to reinvent yourself? Maybe you have always envisioned yourself being someone different from who you are. Or maybe there is an area in your life that you desire to see transformed. Often we carry our problems because we do not think that Jesus wants to solve them. Or worse, we keep living the same way we have because we do not think that Jesus wants us to experience transformation. Well, here is a word that will help you experience a transformation in every area of your life. But before we do that, let us look at the definition for transformation.

Definition for transformation

According to the Cambridge dictionary, the definition for transformation is the complete change in the appearance or character of something or someone that leads to improvement. In simple terms, transformation is the leveling up from one state to another. A complete overhaul, if you must. Anyway, now that we know what transformation is, let us look at scripture on transformation to help us understand more.

Jesus Changes Water Into Wine

On the third day a wedding took place at Cana in Galilee. Jesus’ mother was there, and Jesus and his disciples had also been invited to the wedding. When the wine was gone, Jesus’ mother said to him, “They have no more wine.”

“Woman,[a] why do you involve me?” Jesus replied. “My hour has not yet come.” His mother said to the servants, “Do whatever he tells you.” Nearby stood six stone water jars, the kind used by the Jews for ceremonial washing, each holding from twenty to thirty gallons.Jesus said to the servants, “Fill the jars with water,”; so they filled them to the brim. Then, he told them, “Now draw some out and take it to the master of the banquet.”

They did so, and the master of the banquet tasted the water that had been turned into wine. He did not realize where it had come from, though the servants who had drawn the water knew. Then he called the bridegroom aside 10 and said, “Everyone brings out the choice wine first and then the cheaper wine after the guests have had too much to drink, but you have saved the best till now.”

11 What Jesus did here in Cana of Galilee was the first of the signs through which he revealed his glory, and his disciples believed in him. 12 After this, he went down to Capernaum with his mother and brothers and his disciples. There they stayed for a few days.

In John 2:1-11, Jesus attends a wedding in Cana of Galilee together with His disciples, mother, and siblings. At the wedding, there arises a need – wine shortage, and Mary, the mother of Jesus, asks Jesus for help. A point to note is, that wine was very important in the Jewish culture. Wine represented joy and abundant blessings of God, and thus it was used during celebrations and to mark an event. The shortage of wine thus was a terrible sign, and that is why Mary had to ask Jesus for help. As we look at this story today, let us understand some things that the Holy Spirit wants us to learn through Mary’s posture and what Jesus did.

What do you do when you want to experience a transformation in your life?

Recognize that Jesus is the solution

Mary recognized the fact that Jesus could solve a problem. Jesus has the solution to all your problems. Will you turn to Him? Do you believe He can turn around your situation? In this verse, we see Mary’s faith and how it could create room for the miracle. Although the time for Jesus’ unveiling had not yet come, He could perform the miracle because of Mary’s faith. The Bible clearly states that when we have faith, we can move mountains.

It is time to exercise your muscles of faith and trust God to move on your behalf. The next thing Mary did while exercising her faith was to give the servants instructions and tell them to do what Jesus told them. Jesus can solve every problem you have today. He is the solution. Instead of worrying about it why don’t you turn to Him and ASK Him for help? He not only wants to help you, but He is willing. You will not have to keep begging Him because He wants to help you more than you want Him to. How cool is that?

In whatever area you need to experience transformation, just remember that Jesus has the power to transform it. There is nothing too big for God. That is why in Philippians 4, He reminds us to ask Him anything. Why would you deny yourself the chance to experience transformation when Jesus wants to do it for you? Child of God, today I want to ask you to turn to Jesus to solve your problem. And it does not matter what you want Him to do in your life. He can calm the storm in your life. He can even provide food for you if that is what you need. If you desire a job or growth in your business, ask Him. There is nothing off limits with Him.

Wouldn’t it be tragic for you to get to heaven only to realize that Jesus had a solution to the problem that tormented you all your life? Don’t wait until the last minute, ask Him today. Had Mary not asked, she would not have received that miracle? The same applies to you. Could it be the reason you have not received your answer is that you have not asked Jesus to help you?

Obedience is key if you want to experience transformation.

Before Jesus can move on our behalf, He first gives us instructions. Jesus told the servants to fill the jars with water. Before you can receive your miracle, act in obedience. Jesus wants a partnership with us. There is always an instruction that precedes a move of God. what has Jesus instructed you to do before you can receive your miracle? Have you done it? The miracle did not occur until they filled the jars. In the same way, your miracle will only manifest after you obey the instruction. Ask yourself this: could it be that you are the one blocking your own blessing? Have you done the last thing that God asked you to do?

God will never give you fresh instructions until you have moved on from the ones He gave you before. The widow of Zarephath received her provision because she obeyed what Elijah had told her. Had she not given Elijah food to eat, she would not have seen that God would sustain her and her child during the 3-year drought. The prophet’s widow had to borrow Jerricans from her neighbors and follow Elisha’s instructions before she could experience the miracle of the multiplication of the oil. What is God asking you to do today?

Obedience is better than sacrifice. Focus on doing what God is asking you to. Your miracle is in your obedience. Could it be that the reason you have not received your financial miracle is that you have yet to start that business idea God asked you to? God’s ways are higher than our ways. And He might ask you to do something that feels different and has yet to be done before. But when you remain obedient to what He is telling you, you will experience that breakthrough you have been praying for.

Give Jesus your broken pieces

An amazing thing to note here is that Jesus used the jars that were used for the Jewish cleansing ritual. The said jars were of noble use and after the miracle, they produced the best wine. This goes to show us that Jesus will use even the worst of our circumstances to bring out the best in us. And that is why in Romans we are told that everything will work out for our good.

Jesus wants you to experience your breakthrough and transformation. Mary was not afraid to give Jesus her area of need. She did not hide what was bothering her, although it seemed trivial. In those broken areas, Jesus wants to heal. It does not matter how trivial they are. He still cares about you and wants to heal you. If He knows the number of hair on your head, what would He not be concerned about? Take your problems to God today. And it does not matter how big or small they are, take them to Him today. water into wine

Partner with Jesus if you want to experience transformation.

Whatever we take to Jesus, He can transform it to bring out the best in us and that is why in the book of Isaiah, the author says that He ( Jesus) will give us beauty from ashes and dancing from mourning. You can trust God to give you the best story from the broken parts of your life. The secret is to give it all to Him. Come as you are.

We have a Saviour who loves and cares for us, In the book of John, He tells us He cares about every little detail of our lives and so we need not fear. Jesus desires a relationship and partnership with us. Are you ready for a partnership with Jesus? Just invite Him into every area of your life and watch Him transform all the broken, undesirable parts into exquisite stories.

Scriptures that prove Jesus cares about you

What is man that you are mindful of him, and the son of man that you care for him? Psalm 8:4

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life John 3:16

Conclusion

Transformation is possible for you. Jesus does not want you to live a mediocre life. He also does not want you to keep experiencing limitations in the same area for years. Jesus wants to see you set free. He wants you to move from glory to glory. Have you been experiencing a lack in an area of your life? Today, I encourage you to turn to Jesus. Ask Him for your help today and have Him set you free from whatever has been holding you back. Nothing is too small that you cannot bring to Jesus. He wants you to involve Him in every area of your life. He cares about you and also wants you to experience the fullness of the price He paid on the cross.

Just like Jesus transformed water into wine, He wants to transform you today. Have you accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior? If you have not, I want to encourage you to do that today. Just invite Him into your heart and repent of your sins. He wants to forgive you and He says so in His word. When you repent, He promises to forgive. He is faithful and just to forgive you.

Jesus also promises to make you a brand new creation when you believe in Him and invite Him in. You are a new creation in Jesus. Salvation is the first step to transformation. And when your mind transforms, you shift the atmosphere. Again, the Holy Spirit will also give you ideas on how to change your situation when you remain in fellowship with Him.
