GOD WILL NEVER STOP LOVING YOU!

GOD WILL NEVER STOP LOVING YOU

Today I want to start with this truth. God will never stop loving you. God loves you so much. I know what you are thinking ‘ I know. But honestly, do you? And if you do, why do you diminish your value based on your past or even societal standards? Why do you allow shame, guilt, and condemnation to make you feel unworthy and unloved? Why do you always seek to earn God’s love through your good works? Knowing something differs from having a revelation. It’s good to know that God loves you, but once you have that revelation, you become undone.

The problem is we have placed filters on God, and we only see Him through the lenses of our relationships with those in authority over us. So, because we have only experienced conditional love, we assume God is the same. Or even worse, because of religion, we assume God is always angry, holding a stick, waiting for you to mess up so that He can punish you. But friend, I’m here to tell you that our God is so loving and so personal that His will for you is that you get to know Him as your personal Father and Friend.

What hinders you from accepting the truth that God will never stop loving you?

Sin

The first thing that hinders us from experiencing God’s love is sin. The Bible defines sin as missing the mark. And whenever we go astray, the first thing we imagine is that God has taken His love from us. This, however, r could not be further from the truth. While it is true that God is grieved when we sin and that there are consequences for our actions, His love will never run out because of your mistake.

Think about this, why would He provide an avenue for reconciliation and redemption if He did not love you? How many times did the Israelites rebel against God? Countless times. Yet God did not stop loving them. He was annoyed with them, but that did not mean He hated them. God knows how to separate the act from the person. He hates sin, but He still loves you. Romans 8: 35-37 shows us a glimpse of God’s love for us. When you miss the mark, dust yourself up and try again. Remember, God’s mercies are new every morning.

Shame, guilt, and condemnation

Once you sin, the enemy will bring about feelings of shame and condemnation. The devil knows that if he can get you stuck on your mistakes, you will not receive God’s love. And therefore not become fully who God created you to be. Shame and guilt will keep you bound, yet God wants to see you free. Beloved, do not allow the enemy to keep you stuck from receiving God’s love. It is His love that will transform you. As you gaze on His love, you will experience transformation which comes from the renewal and rewiring of your mind.

There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. As long as you are saved, you are not condemned. Child of God allows God’s grace to permeate your entire being. After all, His mercies are new every morning. You will never be perfect. And your holiness is as filthy rag to Him. Clothe yourself with Jesus’ garment and allow His Blood to cleanse you from all your sins. As long as you have repented, God has forgiven you. The Bible tells us He is faithful and just forgives us when we mess up.

Religion

Religion focuses on works and not grace. And because it solely emphasizes perfection and obeying the law instead of relationship, it can be difficult for you to receive the fact that God will never stop loving you. The book of Romans, however, gives us a beautiful depiction of Grace and relationship. So let’s take a look at these scriptures.

13 It was not through the law that Abraham and his offspring received the promise that he would be heir of the world, but through the righteousness that comes by faith. 14 For if those who depend on the law are heirs, faith means nothing and the promise is worthless, 15 because the law brings wrath. And where there is no law there is no transgression.

16 Therefore, the promise comes by faith, so that it may be by grace and may be guaranteed to all Abraham’s offspring—not only to those who are of the law but also to those who have the faith of Abraham. He is the father of us all. 17 As it is written: “I have made you a father of many nations.”He is our father in the sight of God, in whom he believed—the God who gives life to the dead and calls into being things that were not.

18 Against all hope, Abraham in hope believed and so became the father of many nations, just as it had been said to him, “So shall your offspring be.”[d] 19 Without weakening in his faith, he faced the fact that his body was as good as dead—since he was about a hundred years old—and that Sarah’s womb was also dead. 20 Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, 21 being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised. 22 This is why “it was credited to him as righteousness.” 23 The words “it was credited to him” were written not for him alone, 24 but also for us, to whom God will credit righteousness—for us who believe in him who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead. 25 He was delivered over to death for our sins and was raised to life for our justification.

And yet again in Romans 11: 6 the Bible clearly tells us this; But if it is by grace, it is no longer on the basis of works, otherwise, grace is no longer grace. And another tells us that if it is by works, then Christ died in vain. So focus on having a relationship with God. This is what will allow you to receive the truth that God will never stop loving you.

Relationship with those in authority over us.

Just because you experienced conditional love from your parents, guardians, and those in authority over you does not mean that God is the same way. God is not a human being. And He will never recant His love when you mess up. His love is unconditional. And that is why He did not wait for you to get your act together to redeem you. Instead, He died for you while you were still a sinner. Do not view God through the lens of your experiences. Allow Him to reveal Himself to you. His love is perfect and His love also heals. You can unlearn and learn to receive God’s love. Ask the Holy Spirit to help you understand the depth of God’s love. When you ask Him, He will.

14 For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God. 15 The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.” 16 The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God’s children. 17 Now if we are children, then we are heirs—heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.

Let me paint you a picture:

Do you know that if today you decided you will do no good works He will not love you any less? Consequently, if you always keep His commandments and follow His laws, He will not love you any more than He already does. Thus, this proves that God’s love for you is not based on what you do or don’t do. The Bible tells us that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us and me. He bore the pain of the cross because of His love for us. And He did it without complaining. What an amazing love. There is no greater love than offering yourself as a sacrifice on behalf of another. In order for this truth to sink into your heart, I have some scriptures I want us to dissect, and here goes.

Scriptures that prove that God will never stop loving you

1 John 3:1

See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God! And that is what we are! The reason the world does not know us is that it did not know him.

God already calls you His child. It is very rare for a parent to disown their child. God even promises that He would never abandon His children. And to confirm to you that you are His child, let me give you a scripture. In 1 John 3:2, the Bible says. ”Beloved, we are God’s children now, and what we will be, has not yet appeared; but we know that when he appears we shall be like him because we shall see him as he is.” Why would not God love His own child? Do you now see why I insist on reminding you that God will never stop loving you? His unconditional love is available for you.

You see God’s love is not contingent on your actions. It flows from His essence. This means that you can never earn His love. No wonder Paul tells us that there is nothing in this world that can ever separate you from experiencing God’s love.

Romans 8:35-37

37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. 38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Don’t allow the shame and guilt of your past to keep you from experiencing the fullness of God’s love. God is not looking for you to get your act together so that He can love you. He loved you while you were still a sinner. That is why He says that it was because of His love for us that He gave His Son so that whosoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life. Jesus did not come to condemn the world. No! He came so that you and I could be set free. (John 3:16-18 ).

And if nothing can separate you from God’s love, what makes you think you can earn His love? He is your Father. Why would He want you to prove yourself worthy of His love? The story of the prodigal son is one that should give you a glimpse of the unconditional love of God. The prodigal son stepped away from the protection and covering of his father. Yet when he resolved to return, his father’s love for him was still there.

In fact, the Bible tells us that. when he came back the father ran to meet him. What a beautiful picture. And to top it all up, he threw a party to celebrate his homecoming. God is always waiting for you with arms wide open. That is how much he loves you. To learn more about this story of the prodigal son, check out this blog post on the redemptive love of God. Rest on this truth that God will never stop loving you.

Re-learning God’s love

God’s love is not like the one we have on earth. His Love heals, restores, empowers, transforms, rejuvenates, and validates. So the only way you can learn what God’s love really is, is by reading scriptures on who He is and His love for you. If you want to perfect a skill, you learn it, whether it is through training or practice. The same concept applies to learning God’s love. Learn first who God is, His heart, and then you will understand His love. His love is safe. You can trust God and you can be confident that His will for you is pure, holy, and perfect.

The Holy Spirit is a perfect teacher who wants to give you revelations about God and who He is to you and His love for you. This is as easy as just asking the Holy Spirit for His help and telling Him to give you revelations about God and who He is to you. We know Jesus died for all of us. But you need to know that as He was dying on that cross, He was thinking about you, too. You matter to Him. He knew you before He formed you and loved you while you were still a thought. God is not after your works, but your heart. He is looking for a personal relationship with you and wants you to experience His healing Love. Just one encounter with the Love of God will transform you.

Just look at the transformation that happened in Saul’s life. One day he was persecuting Christians and the next he was preaching about Jesus. God’s love for him changed him and he even had a name change because of the transformation. God wants to change your life and give you a clean slate. All He requires from you is your yes to experiencing His Love. Do not earn it, just receive it.

So now I am confident in this. There is nothing in the universe that has the power to separate us from the love of God. His love triumphs over all: sin, death, principalities, life’s troubles, shame, condemnation, guilt, past mistakes, and demonic forces.

ROMANS 8: 38, tpt

Key Takeaway;

  • We cannot earn God’s love, we have already received it.
  • God’s love differs from the world’s love as it is unconditional.
  • God is interested more in your heart than in your works.
  • The love of God heals and transforms.
  • God loved us before we were born.
  • Nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Not even our past mistakes or even sins. Your sin will not make God love you any less than He does right now. Your works will not make Him love you any more than He does now.

There is nothing in our past, present, or future that can weaken God’s love for us and that is a guarantee!
